TSA here I come...again...

tomorrow I will be flying back to Mexico.....2 flights, 2 opportunities for TSA to show their new training, sensitivity, etc. I am practicing my polite "may I see a supervisor" just in case. I will be wearing my prosthesis and my lymph pump equipment will be in the carry ons. Will let you know if any issues this trip. My lymphedema flared up a bit this week....so I am pumping the day away :-) Looking forward to the warm sea breezes and walking barefoot in the sand! Have a full dance card to meet up with friends for dinners and fiestas while I am there. Love to all of you.......and remember, at the end of the tunnel, your 'new normal' is what you make it....embrace it and cherish all the moments and adventures. Hugs

    I am soooooooooo happy for you!
    Your post brought tears of joy. Enjoy the feel of sand between the toes. I will visit my parents in Va. Beach in May and I can't wait for that walk along the beach with the waves rushing up to my feet. Thanks for sharing with us and have a wonderful trip.

    How thoughtful of you to give the TSA an opportunity to practice! Hopefully the lymphedema likes the warm ocean breezes and the sand between your toes as much as you do, maybe all that fresh air and nature will help it calm down too.

    I love your advice on 'new normal' and will do my best to follow it.

    That's a riot!

    Personally, I've never put much faith in those screenings. About 3 years ago I broke my ankle and have hardware in my ankle consisting of a titanium plate about 6 inches long and 3/4 inch wide ... and 7 screws. I have not ONCE been stopped or even scanned with the wand for that hardware that is barely under my skin. For crying out loud ... it could be a titanium knife stuck in my sock ... but yet they insist on groping anyone they want ...

    But ... As Susan said ... I'm sure they've made some very interesting "discoveries" ... even though none of them had to do with terrorists :-)

    And you have the right attitude about the TSA! Respectfully question their treatment, if necessary...otherwise, they can find SOMETHING to keep you from what you want (Mexico!)
