Hello
I think that is a wonderful thing you want to do, I've seen volunteers pushing carts in the waiting rooms at the hospital with free items, alot went for the puzzle sheets, crosswords someone would make copies from the news paper crosswords and pass them out, alot of books, lap blankets, head scarfs ect. I think sweatshirts would be a great idea, as far as what appliques, I'm not sure since there is a wide variety of Age groups at cancer hospitals, I myself like angels I'm 29, some patients are moms others grandmothers they have sweatshirts that state their names like that, butterflies, dragonflies, animals like dogs or cats, a good place for ideas is a craft store like Micheals or AC Moore, they usually have shirts hanging, maybe you can get some ideas, well I hope this helps alittle, again I think what you want to do is great, everyone should be that kind.
Good Luck

Let me know how you make out.
room, the nurses would have sodas, water, peppermint and those crummy packaged crackers for the patients. I love to bake. I fixed indvidual wrapped slices of blueberry zuchinni bread, and homemade peanut butter crackers for snacks one day and it turned treatment day for 14 patients into a social gathering. Smiles and laughs were big that day.
Whatever you make will bring someone joy.

Angela,
I bet they all enjoyed that. There was a basket of crackers/snacks there and also a fancy coffee/hot chocolate machine. I don't know how often we'll be at that section since that was our first time there but hope to make a few things before the next appointment. I had lost interest in doing any of it anymore but if it could help brighten a persons day or help them in any way then I need to get busy and decorate shirts. Thanks for your post.0
