I have a 10cm tumor in my femur and am scheduled to have it removed. The doc said he is going to test it while im under to look for cancer. I have Thinning of the cortex and remodeling.I also have bone damage (chipping away). My bone scan came back with a very intense uptake and cell changes. I am sick to my stomach over this. If there is anyone who has had this please email me with your experiences or any helpful information. Thank-you for reading

I had 3 surgeries on my finger and each time I was told by Mayo clinic that it was endro tumor. Finally I had entire finger, knuckle and bone to wrist removed. Now I'm told it is a stage 2 chondrosarcoma.

My chondrosarcoma was on a finger, too. My pinky! It’d been called an enchondroma or enchondroma vs. chondrosarcome for decades. Very little research of it. Extremely rare manifesting in the hand. I found/saved just about all the research, and knew when the local surgeon told me the pain/growth was normal that it was time to get a second opinion. That surgeon didn’t know either. So, I reached out back to Mayo, who’d done my first hand surgery about 30 years ago.

It’s very slow growing…. Mayo said get out there sooner, rather than later, where an amputation was needed for the chondrosarcoma, grade 1. Had I listened locally, I’d be in trouble. Get educated! And never, ever, ever give up!
