The Cancer Survivors Network (CSN) is a peer support community for cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, families, and friends! CSN is a safe place to connect with others who share your interests and experiences.
I'm gonna be on tee-vee!!! yippee! and an update

Anyway - my story is airing tonight on "Maureen's Medical Moment" - a health-centered story they have each week on the evening news. It should be up on their website tonight so for those of you also on facebook I'll have a link on there, I'll also see if I can post one on here tonight for you!
Another thing they have at the center is "Wellness Wednesdays" - free for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers. The first is a knitting class from 10-11 a.m., followed by a journaling class from 11-noon, and from 1-2 they have a walking club. 2 weeks ago I got a babysitter lined up for my little Doodie, and I'm going to start going to the classes tomorrow! Heatherbelle is going to learn how to knit! Whether or not I become a master knitter, I want to go for the cameraderie, support, and frankly, to have some "me time" to get out of the house without my kids so that I can recharge! A happy mom = a happy family!
Camryn & I also went to our first Relay for Life team captain's meeting last week, she spoke during the presentation, and will be giving the caregiver's speech at the relay. We're going to have a team & do the relay this year, I'm sure it will be alot of fun. We're excited about it. I haven't been on here posting much - my precious little 2 yr old Doodie is just BENT on driving her mommy mad, so I spend the majority of my days chasing after her, cleaning up after her, and trying to keep up with her. Feels good, though, that I'm again able to do so!
I love you guys!! I'll post my news story soon as it's up!
*hugs*
Heather
- ok i feel like a big piece of crap -not even updating on mom!! She's feeling better, getting back on her feet after chemo. No more Taxotere rashes or nausea. Her hair is starting to come back in. Are amazing!!! Can't wait to see it! The cancer center I went to in Adrian (MI) opened up a wellness thingy like this in Toledo where their second office located. Just a little too far to go to...but it sounds very similar to yours.
Love ya!

Lights, Camera, Action!
Heather... I am so happy for you. It sounds like such a blast! I went to a Wellness Center when I was diagnosed and sat in on some of their lectures. They are an excellent group to go for support and friendly chit chat. I know you did a fantastic job on your interview. I will definitely go online to have a look. Thanks for the share and... Congratulations!

PS Do you think you can knit me a scarf? Just kidding, have fun learning how to knit. -

I think this is just fantastic. That you are doing the interview, that you found such a great place, and most of all that life is grabbing you and pulling back into its arms. Glad you are taking that me time, so important when you have children. And glad that your mom is doing well. All in all it's just plain wonderful. You go, girl.

I don't know how to post a link on here - but you should be able to copy this & paste it in your browser & it will take you the news story on the website, and they have the video on there as well.
Thank you for saying such nice things to me& your support & excitement for me! I've made it my mission to speak out, write, raise money, and do whatever I personally can to raise breast cancer awareness so that they can find that damn cure already!
*hugs*
