Rise in ALT/AST during Avastin/Cytoxin treatment

I've been on 2 cycles so far of Avastin/cytoxin and my blood levels has been pretty good. I had blood taken at my primary care physician last week and the range with his lab for ALT was 7-52, mine came in at 56. He said it was still ok because it was only slightly over the top of the range. I noticed that the high and low lab ranges at MSK are always different.

Has anyone else had any increases in their ALT/AST while on chemo. I know when I was on Gemzar and even Carbo/Taxotere this happened. I was always told that once a person stops chemo it goes to normal. But, still it is concerning.

I posted this maybe two weeks ago. My ALT and AST were both slightly elevated while on that combo. I was told it was from the cytoxin and the NP at MSKCC was not very worried. She told me sometimes they withhold treatment for a week to let the level come down. I am no longer on cytoxin. I go in on Thursday for my first taxol infusion. That will be about 2 wks post cytoxin so I will let you know if my level comes down.

    ALT AST reply to Nancy
Hi Nancy, thanks for the info. This is the first time it's been raised since I've been on Cytoxan/Avastin. I know in the past, oncologists, didn't seem to worry about this. I hope all goes well for you on the Cytoxan/Taxol infusion. I also appreciate you responding to me. I wish you the best of luck in your treatment.
