Good luck with the radiation; I hope you have extreme success.
I am sorry, I missed any post you may have posted earlier - where is the target of the beam? Chest, belly etc.? I am curious as to their decision as the location likely influenced it (making an invasive procedure to mark the target more difficult etc.)
I am in a situation where I have good sized conglomerations of nodes in my neck and mediastinum and I am failing my current chemo. Hoping for a beam of some sort to add to the mix too, but not sure it will be offered due to the adjacent structures in the chest. They do alot of mediastinal radiation for lymphomas but I guess they can use less total energy as they are more radiosensitive. Lesions in the lung s themselves are easier to target and the lung tolerates the procedure better that the blood vessels/esophagous/heart in the mediastinum.
Anyone know of any cases where one received any kind of rads to the mediastinum/chest? If so, what type - cyberknife, stereotactic, tomographic, plain old rads etc?
I hope the planned course works well for you
