I spend a couple hours in the chat room feature of this site several nights a week. I have made many friends there and it is always helpful to connect with others in the fight. But, tonight I met a young man in chat that broke my heart. He was dx'd with colon cancer at the age of 16 and now at age 18 has had a recurrence and is Stage IV and told he's inoperable. I too am Stage IV and have been told I'm inoperable. I so connected with this young man. I can not even imagine dealing with this at his age. I would just like to ask everyone here to send all the positive thoughts and vibes they can to him. His name is Kurtis.
Thank You All
Deb

    Dear Deb
Thank you so much for sharing this even though it is heartbreaking to hear of one so young being in this situation.

Have you suggested that he come to this board? I would like to think that with the information and stories here he might gain from it.

All things positive going to Kurtis.

    Wow
I feel so sad when I hear of so many children and young people with cancer. Wish there was a magic wand to fix everything. I can't imagine going through all this crap at such a young age.

Sending Positive Thoughts and Vibes to Kurtis.

    Take Care,

    Barb

    I am sending out
the very best wishes to your new friend. I recently read an article that said currently 10% of colon cancer patients are under the age of 40. It also said that the number of patients under 40 has been increasing. It's a very sad thought that so many younger people have to experience this damn disease and even worse that the number is increasing. I was a member of another board where a young girl only 11 yrs old was said to have died from colon cancer. It's just a shame.

You are right; it is unfair. I hope Kurtis will come on this forum.
