My arm hurts so badly when I try to stretch it all the way out. It's like a burning and about two inches above the site they put my IV in is a lump. Dr. says it's probably phlebitis. But it's been going on since my second treatment. I will be on number 5 next thursday. Anyone had similiar?
I HATE LUMPS!!

Who likes lumps! Maybe a
Who likes lumps! Maybe a lump in my pocket from a wad of cash....but seriously, I had a port so sorry I don't know but I'm sorry that you hurt. Did the doctor tell you anything that you might do to help the pain or lump?
Hope it gets better soon.
Hugs,

don't know
What I have to say will probably not help, I am no Dr. and have no experience and lettle knowledge. I am just guessing. I had a port and did not get chemo through regular IV, but I have had IV's for other things. I know lumps can happen when there is an infection or when the needle has pierced the vein and the fluid is going into the flesh, not the vien, but the Dr. should have been able to identify either of those and they should not last so long. If you are not getting satisfactory information from your Dr. consider a second opinion. Your chemo nurses may have some good tips on how to make it feel better. Aside from that, I have no ideas.
Hope you get some help soon, no one likes to be in pain, especially when you don't know why. seof0 -

I too will be having number
I too will be having number 5 next wednesday. I've had pain and burning on the the last 3. I did have some swelling like little bump on number 3. When I asked about it the last time I went in I was told it was nothing to worry about. The swelling has gone down and the pain is going away at that site. But the last one is very painful right now. I'm getting tired of my arm hurting. I haven't found anything to help. Sorry. Just know you're not the only one.0
