Laughing at myself

I've been photographing the return of my hair and decided the other day that I looked like a dandeion, so while out walking, I picked a dandelion, and had my husband take a picture of the two of us. The picture is on my expressions page. I think there is a definite resemblance. Enjoy.

    That'll be me soon - I hope!
Finished my chemo 10 days ago. I guess "the dandelion look" is coming my way very soon!
(At least - I do hope so!).

At least a dandelion puff is a flower, of sorts!
My granddaughter took one look at my super-fine red spikey chemo hair and said, "You know, Gram, you remind me of a baby orangatan." And we looked up a photo of one online and I DID look just LIKE him, with my sticky-outty ears and orange whisps! We did a side-by-side, orangatan photo/me, look in the mirror, but I did NOT let her record that observation with a photo!! But I did find it hysterical!

    Double Whammy (Suzanne) & Everyone
    Suzanne & Everyone Else:

I want to apologize & say "please forgive me" & I am "really sorry". I did not want to sound callous or insensitive to Suzanne's hair loss. I re-read the post above & think it may have been written or worded wrong & Suzanne or anyone else could have taken offense.
I have not had to go through chemo or radiation myself but I am not an insensitive dolt. I just wanted to say something light-hearted to make her smile & not worry about her hair.

I know we are all in this together, I am a survivor also and thankful I did not need further treatment but my heart aches for those that do.

Again, please forgive me everyone & SUZANNE, especially I am sorry, hope you are well. You were the first to answer my post when I was just diagnosed & scared & I thank you for that, you made me feel so welcome. Peace/Blessings/Health.

I had a Top 10 positives of hair loss-my family really liked it
My hair is back now... I just decided it was part of getting better having it to leave for a time. I had a wig from time it started to fall out... almost all in one weekend..Friday to Mon. I asked my hubbie if it was enough to notice...yep he said...so Monday I went to work & timidly wore my wig...so many co-workers wanted to know who did my "make-over" as I looked 10 years younger than on Friday!!! I still get a laugh about that... I wore my wig until my hair looked like a short burr...it came back curly...another color...curly was fab for me who has always had short hair.. it was the easiest hair style I've ever had...my grown sons said I had more hair styles than in my entire life...as my hair grew out...my grand daughters were very curious.. the youngest called my wig a "wiggie" later,....with their mom's permission (two were under 6 yrs., eventually, my scarfs or hats came off and they still knew I was me with and without hair...
They felt my head, etc. My hair is back to its usual straight blonde look...I still have fun playing with my hair on my head...now...
one of my top ten "no plucking eyebrows with bifocals"

Anyone who can't see without their glasses and wears bifocals know of this terrible problem
on trying to pluck hairs that you can't see over your glassless eyes!!! :):)

Keep up that great spirit, we all share this and it comes out OK...hugs across the miles

One more top ten....A perfect excuse to buy fab earrings, hats, &/or scarfs!

    No offense taken
Oh, Domina, I don't see anything to be offended by in your post. Afterall, the subject line for my initial post was "Laughing at Myself". And here is it 2 months later and now 6 months from my last chemo and my hair is still too sparse to go "topless"! I'm still drawing on those eyebrows and wearing false eyelashes! It's getting old, but it is growing and I know it will fill in eventually. Thank you Domina, for your kind comments and sensitivity to all of us experiencing hair loss. I certainly expected to be pretty much back to normal by now. Patience is not my strong suit.

Ty for getting back to me. : )
I was so very worried I got you mad & offended you & the other ladies.

I know you must be frustrated with the amount of hair growth & how long it takes to fill in but it will get there

You will go through all those stages where no amount of brushing will satisfy you because it will not lay right. But it will get there, waiting for hair to grow is the most tedious process ever. But it will be worth it in the end.

When I was still coloring my hair, I use to get sick of a certain shade & want to start all over without waiting for it to grow out. I have had friends take the clippers to me many, many times. From a bob to a crew cut in minutes.

Well, I hope you are doing great & it will come back soon. I hope all is well & Thank you.

    Blessings & Health!!!
