Congratulations!
Congrats on being done with treatment! That's fantastic and now you can begin to heal. It will happen pretty quickly and in a couple of weeks, you should be feeling much better. As for the waiting and anxiety, you get used to it after awhile. I have a PET scan coming up next week and I'm a little anxious, even at almost 29 months post-treatment. But I don't get nearly as stressed as I used to. I'm just trying to keep busy and not think about it 24/7. I wish you all the best with your recovery and follow-ups. Please keep us posted as to how things are going.0 -

I also want to wish you congrats on being done with treatment. Ditto to everything Martha said about healing and anxiety. I am almost 20 months out and I still get very nervous before doctor appts and scans.
Take care and keep us updated.0 -

So glad you are finished. Now on to the next stage - healing and adjustment to life post treatment. You've been through a lot. Take the time to understand that, be proud of your endurance and strength and celebrate with each new clean scan!
Happy for you!

Congratulations on the completion of your treatments. Isn't it nice to be done? I'm just so grateful to be done, and to see how my body recovers every day, that I don't even think about scans and tests and what if's. Just looking forward to regaining my energy and becoming active again. Can you believe we made it? Yahoo!0 -
Congrats on Finishing
While it takes some time for the healing to finally get over, you will begin to feel better and better with each passing day or week. As for the anxiety as some of the rest said, you do get use to it after a while. I think the longer you go with good news at your check ups, the more you begin to trust what your body is telling you, that really seems to help with the anxiety or anyway it does for me.0 -

Good for you and finishing. You will do well too. How could any cancer live through what its been through. I know its scary the follow up tests but after a few of them you will become more confindent. Let the healing begin. Lori0 -
My anal cancer
I to have just finished my treatments an my body is getting back to the norm.I go in on Feb.9th for my PET Scan to see if it was successful I return on the 11th for the results.Seems that this is the longest Jan I have ever had.It is on my mind most of the time, what will I do if it didn't work,I don't know.I don't know that I can handle an bag on my side which is what they are telling me is my only option.I don't consider that an option its a death sentence. My life as I know it will be over,an only wait for other problems to arise.I will say my Doc's were great an took very good care of me.They made sure all my questions were answered all my doubts were addressed an trying to make this as bearable as possible,I felt lucky in that respect. The only thing i can tell you about the wait is surround your self with family an friends an they will get you through it.0 -

Hello and welcome, sorry you had to find us. Its great that you are done with the treatment. I know that the possiblity of having to have a colostomy is very scary, but I also know that I will do whatever I need to do to survive. This treatment is brutal, so my opinon is no cancer can live through it. The waiting for scans and results is the worst for me. I told my oncologist that when I have a ct, I want to see him and the results the next day. He totally understands and thats how we schedule it. I wish you well. Lori0 -

I'm sorry you've found yourself in the same boat as the rest of us. It's nowhere any of us expected to be. However, we have each other and we are here to support you. I share the same opinion as you do about a colostomy--I don't see that as living. However, if faced with that, I may have a change of heart. I wish you the very best on Feb. 9th. May the results of your PET scan be all good. I am having a PET scan on Feb. 2nd. and am quite anxious. Here's hoping that we both get good news.0
