I really didn't have any side effects with the Xeloda, I had 3000 mg dose per day. And I'll be going back on it, in a week. I'm starting "mop up chemo" which will consist of Avastin and Xeloda. Doesn't hurt my feelings one bit.
I had the same treatment for my "mop up" treatment after my last surgery which was Jan 2009. Stayed on it for 6 months and have been NED ever since but now my CEA is rising and am having a PET scan next week. I am hoping the scan will not show anything new. I hope my CEA levels rose because because I had hernia surgery on Nov 1. -

yes
Yes, I was on xeloda alone as maintenance chemo for several months.
Unfortunately I had a relapse and am now on xeloda plus other stuff.
My regime is 3000mg per day (three pills, twice a day). But not every day (eg right now I'm doing 4 days on, 3 days off -- there are various schedules people try)
I have had some problems with my hands (very dry skin) and feet (dry skin, some skin cracking, some blistering on soles of feet). I've had to give up high heels and hiking, two of my favorite things (not at the same time though!). But, it's manageable...I've been on it for over 8 months now and it's going fine....
I haven't noticed any other side effects. Maybe a bit of fatigue -- but I take a nap every day --regardless of drug regime!!
Good luck!
