Here is an incredible way to acknowledge and award these incredible, life nurses, who each and everyone of us have experienced!
Honor a special oncology nurse for CURE's 2011 Extraordinary Healer Award for Oncology Nursing
CURE is giving you a unique opportunity to honor an oncology nurse through the 2011 Extraordinary Healer Award for Oncology Nursing! CURE will accept essay nominations from patients, survivors, caregivers, and peers describing the compassion, expertise, and helpfulness that a special oncology nurse has exhibited.
Three nurse finalists and the individuals who nominated them by essay, plus one guest each, will receive round-trip airfare and two-night accommodations in Boston, where they will be honored at a reception to be held in conjunction with the Oncology Nursing Society’s 36thAnnual Congress, on April 28th, 2011. One nurse will be presented with the 2011 Extraordinary Healer Award for Oncology Nursing, and will also receive a special gift in recognition of his or her service to cancer patients and survivors.
The deadline is March 21, 2011, so submit yours today!

Part of the rules, Nominations should be made by one person—a current/former patient, caregiver, or peer—to honor one oncology nurse. Submit a 400- to 1000-word essay detailing how your nurse helped you.

I have an exceptional nurse that helped me in every way during my first bout with chemo, spiritually, mentally, personally. This would be a great tribute to those that serve in a field where there is not a lot to smile about........Love to ya sweetheart.......Buzz...0 -

Thanks for posting this. My colon cancer nurse navigator is incredible and has made all the difference in me making it through FOLFOX, and now FOLFIRI and Avastin. She has helped with so many different aspects from financial information to researching drugs to help with my hypersalivation on FOLFIRI, to researching the rare syndrome I got from Oxy, to attending my appointments with my onc and writing my list of concerns on the white board and helping advocate for me, to starting up a colorectal cancer support group. I've never been able to thank her properly - I will nominate her!0
