sores
My doctor asked me to keep an eye out for any sores that might occur in my hair, if I had any I was to call her right away so she could look at it. sometimes radiation can cause some nasty burns and they need to treat it for you. I had 30 rads as well. I didn't get any sores...well, none that blistered fully, mine were mostly from very dry skin (eczema...which I already had before, just not on the back of my scalp).

Rash ?
Jonni
Like Pam said my rash was from the Erbitux and I believe 5FU. I was given diflucan for the sores I encountered, most of which were on my tongue. The rash I received from the Erbitux was so bad antibiotic cream was used to try and calm them down. As Pam said I would definitely as the med onc what he/she thinks. Sorry I couldn't be of more help

We seen the Dr. today and he said it's Shingles. That's all he needs right now! He has been so sick the last 2 weeks, now this. Thanks for the help everyone. It feels almost like family here. Jonni -

Those can be really painful. Meds do help though. I hope the shingles clear up quickly. -

prayers for relief from the sores
I agree shingles is the last thing needed.
I will put him on my prayer list for the sores. I had sores from Cetuximab aka erbitux so I can relate to just one more thing to deal with. But shingle is truly horrible to deal with as I had a coworker - non-cancer patient who got shingles and it was terrible. Hope the doctors can give him something for relief.
