Marymsccolon said:ascites
As Catherine said, I had ascites from a tumor on my right ovary back in 2006. I had to have it drained every week, roughly 4L each time. The ascites stopped once we removed the tumor. Better to find out what's causing the ascites rather than just address the ascites itself. I never researched anything on ascites, and it sounds like it wouldn't be a good idea if I had! Keep strong, you guys have a lot of people praying for you!

Mary,
Thank you for that information. ****'s gut still looks way better than most men his age. It's just that for him it is a bit puffy or distended. We will be talking to the docs about this this week.
Thanks for the encouragement.

A great gameKathleen808 said:I wish we had a "like" button
Hi Everyone,
As you can see I am coming here a lot because you are so warm and supportive. I wish we had a "like" button under the posts. As I read your words of love and wisdom I get stronger. Thank you.
Church was good today and now we are watching the Patriots. **** is from Boston and we are hoping to see the Pats in the Super Bowl.
I am working hard at keeping our home a place of rest and quite love.
Thank you for your prayers. We feel them.
Aloha,
Kathleen

So glad you had a wonderful day...If things work out maybe we will get to meet, I really want to plan a trip to Hawaii...
Stay strong for yourself and ****, you two side by side and get through anything, I think you both have approached this journey with so much love, strength and inspiration, you two ROCK in my book..

I grew up in Dorchesta (1/2 mile from Adam's Cohna on the red line); swam for Quincy "Y". Now watching the Patriots in 2011 rather than the 60's; 70's (when I was rooting for the Celtics!) IS something to be grateful for :-).
Love to you, **** and your family.
all the best, Leslie0 -
a lovely day
It sounds like an absolutely perfect day- I was picturing it in my mind as I read of the 10 mile boat ride, **** surfing, and the sea turtles. I love Hawaii- you are blessed to live in such a paradise.
Keep the faith and keep loving and supporting each other. I am praying hard-

One more thing for now.........Kathleen808 said:Cheryl
Cheryl,
Let's plan on that Hawaii date in the future! Yes, that will be good.
Thank you for sharing about your situation with a number of nodes. That does give me hope that we can get these nasty things stable. That is what we need right now.
In regard to the mass, that is one of the reasons Dr. Lenz wants a PET on Monday. He wants to know what that thing is.
I'll keep you and everyone posted.
Lots of warm love coming your way.
Aloha,
Kathleen
A Mass on the lung, or a growth on the lung..Hmm...lemme think about this.....if I said Im gonna roll a boulder over you you would be kinda worried, but if I said I was gonna roll a rock over ya, you wouldn't worry near as much would ya...Well, MASS as far as human nature goes seems to mean Massive....as in the size of a truck, but its not..its simply another term for growth, which means no more than a tumor, be it MASS, or growth, its the same thing but yet growth seems so much less behemoth so lets go with growth..you know kinda like potatoe or potato', tomatoe or tomato'..its simply a word..use the one with the lesser exclamation, and the brain triggers less of a response to it. 5 cm is about 2.5" in diameter. Mine was 1.4 BUT and I say BUT...after they got in there they saw that it was deeper than they expected so the still just took 1/2 of 1 lobe...Meaning I have 4 and 1/2 left. What I am getting at is that even though the growth in me showed 1.4 cm, it was larger in depth than it was in diameter so that tells me they could be seeing yours at a different angle and the diameter may be the length instead of the diameter at all, until they get in there they are never certain...They can do a biopsy of it but I never wanted to know what it was until I had to. To me a biopsy was just another scheduled minor surgical procedure and I have had more than I want already. Some say get it biopsied, some say wait, I say if anything is to happen with it, better to remove it than let it lounge with clear tissue. I know Im jumping the gun here...but if in fact it comes a time that lung surgery is an option...I am now walking, living, solo singing proof that the first 4 days are hell if they let ya lay there with your epidural out (yep they did)but other than that its not that bad at all.....Ya know, I got it figured this way.....If every time I have to have surgery they take out 1/2# of something, then in 25 years I will be 82 and it takes me about 2 years to have to have surgery again. So my math tells me that in 25 years I will lose 12.5 lbs and I will be exactly where I wanna be as far as weight, I call it my Vandy Weight loss program.....Its only $85000/class, what a bargain.....ya know **** and Jane, (sorry just had to say that, been on my brain since I was 6) **** and Kathleen, its not really how long you last in the game, its how you play it that matters, and the reason for my rambling on here, is because I know when we are in desperation for answers and they seem to never come, the more we can read or simply keep our minds at work the easier it is to find the right word, the right sentence, or maybe even the right story, that benefits someone or that touches the heart enough to pull that or those individuals out of the funk their in and give them a renewed breath of fresh air, then all the rambling was worth it...Just one simply line sometimes does it....I remember CROW71 telling me about the one liner I had said when I was speaking about the little boy at Vandy Childrens Hospital and how he touched me just by his smile....but that one liner really made him think and it really hit home for him, thats my purpose here...to calm, support, and love 2 people that hold life as dear as all the rest of us...We are all here for the both of you......we will hold the world in limbo until you join it with us again.......in smiles love and laughter, and it will come....Love to your family.......Buzz (with a z)0 -
