Good news that you are fairly stable. No big crap growing..no new crap growing...good! What is your KRAS status? Has your Onc mentioned what she will try you on next? Hugs to you my friend!

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow as I sit in "The Lounge" at the hospital, sipping on Folfiri Margaritas:)
In your honor, I'll even make them a "meltdown" and add a shot of Leucavorin and a 5fu-Bolus shot as well:)

I will be having my own "Folfiri Margarita" on Thursday (too bad we can't "enjoy" these at the same time; regardless I will "cheers" you on Thursday at the end of my chemo break). Good luck tomorrow!0 -

Stable
Stable is good. Sounds like your doctor is on top of things. Glad it turned out pretty much what you had hoped. Keep up the great attitude.

Stable is good news and it sounds like you have a great doctor who's ready with a plan B, C, and so on. It seems you too are ready to attack any new treatment which is a great attitude to have, keep it up0 -
same here
Hi Anne,
As others have said, if it isn't bad news, then it's good news! Of course, we're always hoping for "even better", but no bad is good! I'm at a similar situation as you now, sortof anyhow- CEA is rising, but my last two scans have showed mostly stable, with slight progression in some areas. I'm due for another scan soon. My onc ordered it today- if insurance approves it in time, they'll try to set it up for next week, which is my "off" chemo week. If not, then it will be set up for just after my next chemo round.
I had chemo and a dr. appt today & we discussed the "what next" if my next scan shows more progression. He wants me to look at a particular clinical trial out of Mayo (I'd go to their Arizona location). Until/unless I get into a trial, we're going to keep me on Gemzar/Avastin for now, but switch from the Xeloda back to the 5FU pump. I've had a terrible time w/ hand/foot syndrome w/ the xeloda & it's not supposed to be as bad w/ 5FU. We'll see...
Anyhow, I'm glad you came away from your onc appt feeling good, and somewhat relieved I'm sure. Keep plugging away!
Hugs,

YAY
YAY Anne keep it up doing awesome hugs tina0 -
Anne:
Fairly stable is good so I can see why you were reasonably happy with this report. Your onc is right, stay on this mix as long as you can before switching stuff around. As long as it is doing a reasonably good job, keep with it. Good job and I sincerely hope this mix contiues to work for you.
Take care - Tina0 -

Hi Anne,
I am also KRAS wild, and did the Erbitux for almost a year. It worked well. Watch out for the rash. It's like an acne rash that forms all over. My nose looked like Rudolph the red nosed reindeer. It was a small price to pay.
I'm told that since I am KRAS wild, there are still many treatment options for me.0 -
Anne
Stable is a good thing, so I'm glad about that. I'm also guessing your onc wants to stay as long as possible on one, before trying another, so another good thing.
I hope stable stays and little bit of progression goes.
Thinking of you, and sending the most positive thoughts your way.

I have heard about the rash + it worries me a little but I figure I will cross that bridge when I come to it + I am grateful I have the option to use it.0 -

I felt pretty good after this appointment. Obviously I would like to hear any of the following:
1) You are NED!
2) You are in remission
However I will take this + will likely sleep better than I have the last few weeks.
I have a terrific onc, + she never makes you feel like she is in a rush (probably why she is usually late for appointments). She is professor in the University of Toronto med school as well.0
