Surgery this Wed.

Hello to all!
Well, it turns out that all of the constipation and nausea I had with the Hexalen may not have been from the Hexalen at all. I have a "stricture" or "apple core lesion" on my colon, and the colon is only 2-3 centimeters wide in this area. I am going to have surgery this Wed. (they moved fast on this, barium enema done last Wed.). My doc doesn't think that re-connection will be a viable option. The other two options are a colostomy or a "protective ileostomy," which is supposed to be reversible. He will try for the reversible option, but it all depends on what he sees when he gets in there.
Have any of you had this problem? If so, what can you tell me? Thanks.
Love and teal hugs, Carol

Seems like most women with our disease end up with an ostomy. I did have a temporary illeostomy with my inital surgery. It was reversed after 5 infusions with carbo/taxol. At the time of reversal they did a '2nd look' and put in an IP port. 2nd look biopsies came back normal and i went on to receive 3 additional IP treatments. After reversal I did have chronic diarrhea for a along time. Good Luck! -
