UPDATE*Off subject...if you can spare a prayer for my mom....*UPDATE

...she was hospitalized yesterday evening for pneumonia ('the old man's friend'), dehydration, a UTI, and a general confusion behavior(more than likely from the other stuff).
Naturally, I am over 5500 miles away, so all of my conversations start with 'so, what time is it there?'. And yesterday was the day that I got the news, 4 years ago, that my daughter died...sigh...I usually avoid the telephone on that day...something told me to check my voice mail...
She is by nature a fighter, but seems to be flagging. If you can send up a prayer, I would much appreciate it!

Update: Just got off the phone from mom's nurse. She said that mom is a bit better, now that she is being hydrated, but still very confused. She doesn't see the need at this time for me to hop a plane. They are still running tests to make sure they have already found all that is to be found.
I KNOW that it is all the wonderful vibes you, my family, are sending up!!! Thank you, each and every one of you!!!!
Mom is a breast cancer survivor, just like me...just a bit more 'seasoned'...ROFL!
I am sending my love to all of you. I will keep you posted!!!

Sort of a repeat from CP8, huh? I'm getting plenty of practice, it seems! *smile*
Otherwise, it's good here. Kristy came with us, and will fly back home on Wednesday. So we have been showing her our 'other' country, and feeding her things that she has only heard tell about...lol...
The weather was VERY cold when we first arrived, we were able to skate on the canal. Now, it's all thawing, but that is beautiful, too. Today was the first sunny day we have had...so Kristy has seen all of the different winter faces of Holland!
How are you all? I LOVE your new pic!!! And please give a hug to Wendy for me...you both are always in my heart and thoughts!

I am so sorry for your Mom's illness. It is hard to be so far away when a loved one is sick. You + your Mom are in my thoughts.
You are always so caring and quick to make me feel better!
Mom is a bit better, so we are hoping it's just another 'bump in the road'. After all, she has survived cancer twice (breast and endometrial), and raising both me and my sister! LOL!

It is hard to be so far away. But the nurses are wonderful. And VERY flexible with my being 9 hours later than they are for telephone calls!

Kathi, you've got love, hugs, prayers from me also. I hope it goes for your Mom what I have seen in the ER. Those nasty UTI's and dehydration can cause so much confusion, in the elderly as well as youngster's like us. Good to hear the fluids are helping her, now just wait till the antibiotic's start kicking in. I hope this is the case for your Mother my dear.

Concern about our loved ones is difficult enough when close by, the miles just seem to add to the concern because we can't see for ourselves how they are doing.
In the mean time, take care of yourself.

So sorry to hear about your mom and I'm saying prayers for her speedy recovery. Glad to hear that she is doing a little better. It has to be hard for you being so far away but glad that you are able to keep touch with her nurses.
