When I stretch I feel like I am going to actually rip my Butt open. Just tieing my shoes is tough. I feel the stretch when I bend and its not a good feeling. Do you all have your butts sewed up like me??Not Easy to stretch.
yep - i have the sewn up butt -- can't stretch that too far! Although you do sound in worse shape than me in that regard.
Now I'm hoping a specialist PT might be able to assist -- with specific and non-harmful stretches.
Also (now, this sounds like "TMI" -- but that butt is sewn up! -- any special creams plus massage that could help with scar tissue?? I've heard anectodal evidence for Vitamin E creams or capsules -- don't know if it really works....

My treatment left me osteoporotic...
The rads to my pelvis went right thru my left hip. To this day, I still get pain when I do too much walking.
I am now taking Actonel and calcium to strengthen my bones. I'm an old lady, so we are DEFINATELY different...but it bears keeping in mind. A bone DENSITY scan (DEXA) is painless and relatively quick. You might ask for one, a bit further on, if you are still having trouble.

My radiation was finished 12/28/2008. I, too, was left with osteoarthritis, mostly in my hip joints. Some days are still so bad I cannot get out of bed without help. This cold weather we are having is really hard on me as well. I cannot take anti-inflammatory drugs (allergic) so I resort to acupuncture. It does help.
Good luck and lots of hugs, Vicki0 -
tom i'd ask surgeon and onc asap for pain help!!!!!
we can all make suggestions.
but i think you deserve an considered specific answer from your doctors and the nurse may not be the best to answer or comment exclusively.
the pain is serious, if its getting worse hassle the doctors to help you.

In a time with pain management being so good, I agree completely!
Runaway pain makes it hard to recover. In the short run, it's about doing everything to give the best chance for a total recovery, it's the rest of your life you are setting up!
