Glad to hear you are halfway. I finished chemo on the 3rd March 2009 and I think it has taken me this long to get my energy back - even though I kept up my running the whole time. I seem to be feeling more normal and my running has improved. Could be all the supplements etc I am taking. Keep up the yoga etc and hope 2011 is a good one for you

Me too
Nest week I also have my third tx. Second one was also hard for me, lots of pain and fatgue also. Felt better by day five and went to work but was tough to get thru the day. I also have nuropathy in both feet and it nver went away from last years tx. My chemo bag is packed and ready to go. Good luck yo you on your 4 tx swruns.....val0 -

I take quite a few supplements and have done over the last 2 years but in the last month I have started taking a Neem supplement which I think has really helped. Over the last 2 years I have also taken
Selenium
IP6
Modified Citrus Pectin
Niacin
Best Proteolytic Enzymes
CQ10
I try quite a lot that I read about in the hope that something will work miracles.
I have just started drinking 2 different teas that I have read about and have gone back to drinking pawpaw leaf tea. There are a few other things that I take occasionally.

You can celebrate the end of your chemo with a green beer ! I finished my chemo at the end of Nov. and my eyelashes are growing ! You are doing great !

ahhh thanks! I will do that. My son's 20th birthday is the last day of March so celebrations will abound! Best of luck on your upcoming surgery to have your kidney removed. Bummer we can't have two of everything! Susan0 -
Goes faster than you think
I remember when I started my chemo treatments and I thought, Wow I am going to be doing this a long time. Boy those months just kept clicking off and I was done before I knew it. Keep up the good work. It will be over soon. The fatigued kept getting worse for me but we all make it through it.
I will be looking for your post when it says.....I've taken my last chemo treatment.

Are any of you other ladies taking any of the supplements Tasgirl is taking. Or any others? My doctors did not recommend any to me. My surgeon said I should stay away from the white foods. I try but it is hard to give up stuff you are really used to eating. Of course if it keeps me healthy there should be no question but to do it. Any suggestions on dealing without the white foods in your diet?

hi,
i was eating more or less healthy even before i was diagnozed , but one thing - i did eat lots of sweets and white bread...
i have changed my diet now, hope it will help , at least a little bit
practically no sugar, no whites
bread - multi grain
brown or wild rise, quinoa, lentils - as side dish
lots of green veggies - cabbage, kale, brussel sprouts, broccoli, etc..
and of course other veggies too
olive oil, no margarine
practically no meat, more fish. seaweed - you can buy dry - soak it and add to soups and salads.
green tea - but i drink green decaf,in order not to have lots of caffeine.
fruits for desert and dark chocolate - over 70% coco.
that is pretty much my diet.
you can read book - anticancer - it explains in more details.
i hope it helps to stay more healthy,
it is not boring and if i want to have slice of white bread once in a while - i will, but not on regular basis.
