This is the best video on the net of my story.

WOW!
Pete,
This video and your story are unbelievable. You have a wonderful on-camera presence. I think a movie could be made out of it. Your family is beautiful + gives so much to fight for both at sea + on land. Did you dive professionally, as a photographer? I cannot believe the camera turned up after all that time. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.0 -

Thanks for watching, the positive feedback an nbc thankyou email
Strange you have to get cancer to be a TV star!!!!!!!!!!!!! HA HA HA
Please
Sent this big email thanking Marcus who shot and made the movie for me at NBC commission ...
EMAIL BELOW, the thoughts and feelings are relevant to us all, so I figred I would sre them.
My desire to save lives being taken by colorectal cancer has intensified and been focused by the media attention. My family were amazed by all the media fuss as we did not push this story initially. We did not even have a TV for 8 months, which was relaxing.
I can only express my sincere gratitude to Marcus and NBC for your patience and support while shooting the our story.
We loved footage that went to air on nbc today and please make sure ann currie gets our sincerest thanks.
I never dreamed my story could be told so well in the long from. Its only due to Marcus’s efforts of running all over to capture the footage of my family and captain peter.
None of the other programs had my wife in them and she was searching the beach for us, she deserves so much credit.
The message of getting checked for bowel cancer is so subtle that I think it will be more effective. Its an approach Marcus and I discussed in letting the story sell the message. The long from edit is an amazing job Marcus.
I pray your passion and skills are rewarded, they are certainly appreciated by my family and friends.
I will promote my story using your amazing video everywhere and I know it will save lives. I hope it would be possible to have a link to the long form from the NBC site in case viewers wanted a more personal perspective. I know this is a big favour to ask, but I am asking.
It would mean so much to us and I think may save a few lives as well.
The quality of the long from edit is exceptional, and the time you have devoted is sincerely appreciated by myself and my family and the extended family in bowel cancer Australia.
Marcus you are great representative for NBC.
We were fortunate that CBS cancelled.
We were fortunate Sharon Oneill from ABC Stateline did a lovely piece.
Most of all NBC made a commitment to our story and flew Geoff to Sydney. It was great to meet up with him again.
I don’t won’t to be premature and sound falsely positive, I have a long road to recovery ahead with unknown road bumps. I was in ER the week before Xmas being bought back from the brink, lost 7kg in 5 days. Beat that for weight loss.
I view airing this story as being enormously positive in my recovery. Its been good for my soul and my spirit and has me focused on helping others, and not dwelling on my personal challenges. This cancer is so easily beatable if detected early.
Its a rare privilege in life to deliver a message from your heart that strangley encapsulated in the adventures life puts in our way.
We did not invite the media frenzy, but did welcome and appreciate it and enjoy it and to some extent were overwhelmed by it. The first newspaper story was based on a letter written by Steve who found the camera and the snowball kept on rolling.
I am not sure where it will stop.
My life has been shaped by being abandoned at 2 months and being fostered by the Trayhurn’s who fought to keep me and I was legally adopted on my 18th birthday.
I found me decreased foster father Keith when I was 14. That was 30 years ago, he was a digger WW2, he lost a leg, a prisoner of war in Changi . My early was full of his stories of mateship and survival. The Japanese put all the Aussie POWs in a warehouse on a jetty which the Yanks bombed it at the beginning of the war.
My mum Eileen died on 5th July of a sudden stroke when i was 24 before I graduated in computing science which the same birthday of my wife Ellie. My life is full of strange co-incidences.
My wife and I have made a small fortune in IT and PROPERTY. I am grateful I stopped being greedy and really started living a passionate life 10 years ago. I would hate to battle cancer feeling I had not lived already.
Besides saving lives mine included my other personal dream is to be the BBC wildlife photographer of the year. I am still shooting and travelling around chemo dates and dreaming of capturing our planet wild beauty.
I am trying every conceivable conventional and alternative treatment to win my life back. I have 15 doctors, nurses, therapists etc etc helping me. I am truly blessed.
I pray and hope I do win my race. The fact that some of the highlights of my life have been well told on in the media gives me the greatest peace. You would have to be in my shoes to fell this.
I hope you all live well, enjoy good health and an abundance of passion and love. Also make some time and get tested for Bowel Cancer. Its ok if you don’t, but at least I passed on my personal plea directly.
My newest micro campaign is to tell one stranger each day to get checked and have a colonoscopy. I have so many amazing and tragic stories I could tell you already, but not in this email, whose purpose was to say thanks to Marcus.
Sincerest thanks and best wishes to you all,
Peter Trayhurn0 -

sharing our adventures and mis adventures is what we do here!!
if they don't kill us they make us stronger.
I am dog tired, been wiped out all day but a little hyped with the video and getting things organised for our week long pilgramage to Forster with friends.
Spoke with the ships captain, he is in Sydney and wants to meet and get his hug and then his bottle of scotch that I promised him.
I had to tell him I am leaving sydney tomorrow for a weeks family holiday up north.
So I will miss out on meeting him, but we agreed soon.
Spent tonight in ER for my daughter, she broken her little toe today and its the day before our family holiday. It was only 2 weeks
I really appreciated everyones feedback.
sweet dreams,

Pete I just watched your video!!
Hi Pete what an inspiration you are. You are a true survivor and are here to share your story of hope with everyone. Before my cancer I was a pretty unemotional guy but now I can cry at the drop of a hat. Your story touched me and I am so happy to have met you. ( i have always wanted to be friends with a celebrity haha) The pictures are beautiful what a world you get to see as a diver, just amazing. Thanks for sharing!!
