Chemo Drug Everolimus

Is there anyone out there that is on or has been on Everolimus? It is a chemo pill taken once a day?
My dad has Mesothelioma. This is the next course of treatment that his oncologist is advising him to proceed with.
He had chemo (2 rounds) and stopped because it was not working - tumor progressed. Then went in for surgery and it was inoperable. Then went for radiation and tests showed it slowed the growth down but it was still growing at a slower pace. Now they want to try this form of chemo. They do not know of any one drug that treats this rare cancer so they are going to try this now. It is a clinical trial.
Any information would be helpful.

Hi
Sorry it took me so long to respond to your post. I have not been on the network for awhile. My dad was on Everolimus. He took it for about 2 weeks and decided to stop. He did not like the way he felt on it. He was getting styes in his eyes. He also was feeling very tired. My dad's cancer since then has spread from the lining of his right lung to the lining of his stomach. He started chemo again, had 2 rounds and decided to stop again because he developed a blood clot in his left lung. He is in pain. He has a pain patch and takes oxycoden as needed.
How is your husband? If I could be of any assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.
My dad was diagnosed last year (May 2010). He has been through alot. We take one day at a time and thank God for every new day.
Regards,
