Chemo #3 on hold for a week !!

Just got back from my trip to the hospital. I was supposed to get treatment #3 of the mop up chemo but red blood counts were down and I am a little anemic so my ONC is having me wait a week to get the count back up so less side affects. I am happy not to get it but on the other hand that means an additional week in April. Oh well at least I had a good conversation with my Doc and am happy to hear that I am NED. I always question him and make him say it again, It makes me feel better to hear it even though I have heard it for the past two visits.

    Not sure whether to say I'm glad for your week off, or sorry for the week off. Which ever you are more happy about, that's what I'm rooting for. I'll just say I'm happy for your NED for the past two visits.

    if you find any ways of boasting red blood cells let me know.
    I bumped up my red meat intact for the last 2 weeks, my
    counts are still dropping slowly and my next chemo maybe defered as mine today was boardline but they went ahead.

    really interested if diet and rest can help with boosting red blood cells
    and white.

    I hope you get them bloody sky high with your week off.

    I had an ICE COFFEE on the way to work today. couldnt have done that if I got the treatment yesterday, so I am enjoying it. I thought any food with Iron such as beets would boost the red count. But I dont think he wants me to take Iron suppliments?? I'll eat enough beets this week to make my pee red.
