Hi loveandhope,
I've heard that xeloda+oxaliplatin (XELOX) plus avastin is a very good regimen. Most of the patients cope with this regimen very well. My mum's onc said that in the last 4 years, he has never had any patients felt that bad except my mum. I think your dad will do well with this treatment! Oh please remind your dad to drink as much water as possible. My mum's onc asked her to drink at least 1.5-2 liter of water per day.
Considering my mum only had 1/4 of the standard treatment on Monday, she is doing well so far, except she sleeps a lot! She only awakes when she needs to go to toilet or to eat.
Good luck to your dad's first chemo!
Lots of love and best wishes from Dora
