CEA from 2.4 to 547 in 6 months
I have been out of treatment for over a year and have check ups He also siad he would go ahead and schedule me for a 6 month check up. He didn't seemed too concerned but I am a nervous wreck, I want to know but I don't want to know.

Must be a mistake!
The fact you are on no treatments and just doing regular checkups every 6 months... I agree with the others, someone goofed with the results. I don't know how the reports are done but I'm guessing after the tests are done and the blood technician or doctor has got the results, they take the results and enter them on a computer system... one that the doctor can then access when you go in for an appt. They call up your chart, which the most recent have been added by someone from the lab. I'm guessing that someone did a typo when doing the data entry. It could have been 5.47, or 4.57... when it's a typo, it could have been anything.
The fact the onc isn't too concerned, I wouldn't let it worry you either. I have never heard of CEA jumping that high in that short of a time. Anyone who does have it up there, it's usually because they were already in the upper 400s or so. But seriously, the more I think of it, the more I think that you would have had some kind of symptoms to explain that rise.
I think you will get a phone call telling you everything is within normal range... but do let us know!!!

Test
Yes, it does sound like something went wrong with that test. Sounds like your doctor is thinking the same thing especially when he scheduled you for a six month check up. He must not be concerned at all. Must be a big mistake. Keep us posted.

Goodness! That is a huge jump, and I agree it must be a mistake. Certainly you would have felt unwell in some way, or something would have shown in your checkups. Can't wait to hear about the phone call saying it was a mistake!
*hugs*

oncologist just called and my CEA is still high...he didn't say how high and I forgot to ask because I was schocked as I thought the level being elevated was a lab mistake...anyway he is going to schedule a PET scan and said we will go from there.
I will keep you all posted. please say a prayer for me0 -

Prayers being said on your behalf for peace of mind for you and for clear answers to be discovered soon. I hope and pray that whatever the reason for the CEA spike is not nearly as bad as you are fearing it might be- again, praying for that peace to come to you...

Heavenly Father
Lord tonight I come to you on behalf of my sister Grannyc who is in need of your love and compassion at this time. Father please give her the peace of mind while she awaits this petscan. Then we pray that the scan will be good and show nothing to be worried about.
Prayers from Dallas,
