My holiday break from chemo ends this week and it's back to reality I go. I've been chemoing since last Jan. and am in (my 1st) recurrance since being diagnosed 3c in 2006. This brief parole has does me a world of good. I also got great news today that my CA-125s dropped to 60, which is my lowest count in the past year... yeah. I had a major allergic reaction to the carbo part of my carbo/gemzar infusion the last time and they've got me on mega steroids, etc. to see if I can tolerate the carbo tomorrow. I'll be flying high, but it'll be worth it to keep the carbo portion as long as it seems to be working.
I saw a poster in my ONC's office today that a least 1700 women are diagnosed with OVCA each year in New York State alone. If I had a magic wand I'd wave it and have better early detection for women everywhere.

Hi Maria,
good news that your CA is down! Wishing you smooth sailing as you go back on the chemo!! I hope you have a lot of DVD's and books around as you fly high on those steroids. Even 3 mg really affects me.
I start back on the 14th, after getting a new port on the 13th. I feel so great, I wish I could go another 6 weeks.
Hugs,
kathleen
