To Annie-Upsofloating-----Question
How did you handle being terminated when you were ready to get back to work? Were you already released from disablity and obtain unemployment?
Are you working now? How are you you feeling?
Just curious as this is a big stressor for me right now. I will have to pay Cobra, which is triple the cost of what I was paying for my insurance while employed and on disablity.
Thank you.
Hugs,
Cindy

The loss of health insurance
The loss of health insurance was very stressful! I was fortunate in that ihad remarried to a retired military person a few years prior and found I was eligible for benefits. Cobra costs were too high for me. I had been approved for long term disability previously thankfully.
Not the life plan I had been expecting :-(

Annie,
Yes, I am very stressed bout it. My insurance coverage ended 12/31 I am told, and that a COBRA package will be mailed to me in next few weeks which will be retroactive. It will cost me more than triple what I was paying for my insurance while employed.
How did that work for you with disability -since you had tried to go back to work and they let you go? Were you able to continue on your disability or did you not receive it and get unemployment and have to search for a job? I am still on disability thank goodness-and with more tests and stuff ahead on my thyroid I still have that for now.0 -

Do you have long term disability? Perhaps you could consider applying for social security disability. After a certain period you are then medicare eligible. Not having health coverage is most stressful.0 -

See her Facebook page.
I had been telling her she had nothing to worry about, I had her covered. She was already registered with DEERS, which was the first step - just complete the applicaation. he had gotten so used to being self sufficient, although we had been together 6 years by then.
She really loved you all very much...

I loved her, too, and I am so sorry that she is no longer with us.
