Joe finished his 35 radiation treatments on November 5th and had a PET scan this week. His doc is on vacation this week and we were to get results next Monday. We got a suprise call from her nurse late yesterday with a New Year's gift telling us the scan is all clear!

Joe had Stage IV left tonsil cancer and the tumor was wrapped around the jugular vein and sitting against his caroided artery and a small tumor on his right tonsil and 3 very large lymph nodes. It was not found below his clavical. So he was not a surgical candidate. He had induction chemo and then radiation with chemo. Six months of hell, 3 hospitalizations and just about every side effect mentioned on this board.

I have read this board everyday since I found it. It has helped us get through the journey so far and will continue to help us. Knowledge is power and this board is the most powerful tool for survivors and their caretakers.

Happy New Year everyone...miracles happen...thank you to everyone here..
