ENT Visit Tomorrow

I did a MRI last week to see if they could find any problems as to why my eye sight in the left eye is going dark, it came back as normal as can be for someone with radiation twice to the head. But did show a lot of infection still there in the Mastoid and other sinus areas
Anyway I will be on my way tomorrow to see my new ENT and get a follow up on the next step, not to sure what will happen but will put it off till next year. I have a feeling the only way to correct this problem now will be with surgery as the infection is now in all 4 sinus areas based on the MRI and from what I read antibiotic can’t reach the infection.

It is hard knowing that all my doctors missed this problem for the passed 7 months. Looking me straight in the face and could not see the infection even with the MRI 6 months ago telling them the Mastoid was badly infected.

Will give you an up-date after my visit and when I know more just in case this happens to any of you.

    Hondo,

    I am sure you will make a complete come back my friend. Doc's are only human but this was a bad mistake. Hoping for the best.

    Hi Hondo, best of luck with your visit tomorrow. I know you've had temporary success with antibiotics for the infection, and I just wish one would have done the job. You're right, it's absolutely amazing what modern medicine can miss. Practitioners are both the stongest and weakest links in the chain of care. I'm thinking of you, and clearing nasal passages, and sending my thoughts and hope your way.

    I guess you are right they are only human but when we put our life in there hands we expect them to know a little more then we do. I really have a good feeling about this ENT, he been there for over 30 years and seen almost everything there is to see, at lease he gives me a good impression he does, so I feel comfortable with him.

    Keep the boat motor running, I may be deaf and have only one good eye but I can still fish I hope.

    I am grateful for the temporary relief I am having from the bad pains with antibiotics, but now that I am off of them I can feel the pain coming back, just glad I see the ENT tomorrow. I am not sure if I will be able to post tomorrow or not will do my best, but it depends on if I get an internet connection where I will be staying.

    Hondo,

    I trust and like my ENT more than any of my other doctors. I feel he had more to do with saving my life than anyone. I like rad man and chemo gal but my ENT is sharp. And I wasn't making light when i said they are only human, you are very correct that we do put our lives in their hands and they should not make these kind of mistakes. Keep the faith my friend and I will continue, as always, to keep you in my prayers.

    Thanks and by the way I found the disk you sent, it got lost with some other stuff thinking it was some parts I ordered.

    Now you know I am getting old, blame it on my eye sight.
