I finished chemo
December 7th. I had 6 rounds of Taxotere/Cytoxan on a 21 day cycle. Yes, the first time takes a bit longer because one never knows how they're going to react to the cocktail. I was probably at my cancer center 6 hours the first time but by the end of treatment it took max 2 1/2 hours. I was given anti nausea med, saline solution (to keep you hydrated), Benadryl, then the 2 cocktails. I have a purple power port and the nurses were great. All went smoothly. My husband brought me the first time to make sure I didn't have any reaction. After that I was capable of driving myself but usually had company. It's doable. I was fortunate not to have too many side effects. Wishing you the best.
