Quick update with some good news

Hi! So, my platelets went up to 105 so I got FOLFOX #5 today. More good news ... realy good news ... My CEA dropped!!!!! from 18.3 to 16.2 Woo Hoo! Maybe the FOLFOX will work after all.

They stopped my son's (Anthony) suction but are keeping the chest tube in, once his lung reinflated to 80% last night to see if it would stay inflated. Unfortunately this morning it collapsed again so he is now back on suction and we're going to give it another try to see it it will reinflate and stay inflated on it's own without a lung resection. Fingers crossed. Thanks for the prayers and well wishes.

Feeling pretty crappy from this FOLFOX round though. Pins and needles and fatigue really bad already. ugh ... it's been a tough week so I'm going to go rest for a bit while I can.

    Hi Lori,

    That's wonderful news that your CEA dropped! I'm taking it as a sign that the Folfox is working on those nasty cancer cells! Sorry the neuropathy is so bad- keep it at with taking the B-6 and alpha lipoic acid- I really believe it helps.

    You are in my thoughts and prayers daily and now with your son. You have been through so much and are such a trooper going through all you do and still keeping a bright side. You deserve a big round of applause and I'm starting it. Take care sweetie and hope that you and son get better soon.

    Whew! That's good news about you! I pray you will have continued good results.

    Praying your son will be fine soon. It must be so hard for you to be going through your own issues and then having to face that worry, too.
