The Miracle of Life.... I just had to share...
Daddy slept mostly through the night in the converted "daddy chair/bed" as I coached my little sister through labor... at 8:30 this morning I woke him up and with him on one side of her, and I on the other... we helped her focus as little (5 lbs. 9 oz / 18" long) Abigale Rose entered into the world....
Now, I'm here at work (shhhhh... don't know if you can tell, but I'm whispering)... tooth picks keeping my eyes open, as I sit in awe of the miracle of life...
Hugs,
~T

Congratulations! Auntie T! Your sister has a new tax deduction for this year! What a way to ring in the new year!
and so perfect for this time of year, Taleena. Thank you for sharing this.
My little sister is also the age of my oldest (how the heck did this happen? I was an only child!). I was present for the birth of her two children and it is an amazing experience. Also an experience we wonder how we survived and why we willingly did it more than once (or at least I did)! Anyway, because of the age difference between my sister and me, her children call me Auntie Grandma. I love it. I also count them as grandchildren, as my sister spent a lot of time with us growing up and was like our fifth child. She never felt like a sister, more like a daughter without the responsibility.
Enjoy your new neice.

Thank you friends for the well wishes... I must say now that I have gotten some sleep and removed the fog from my eyes, I am still just in awe... we all have seen so much through our journey, we have lost some friend / sisters in pink... as we all continue to fight our battles, it is a wonderful reminded just what a miracle life is... and I was and am so honored to have been asked to stay at her side!!... I am happy to report that Mommy and little Abby are doing great and I will be taking them home to their house tomorrow.. (daddy has to work)... I will post some pictures on my expression page soon!
Until then... hugs,

A new little life IS reaffirming, isn't it?
There was a wee babe in the cabin on the plane with us...my first thought, when she was fussy, was 'Boy! Is THIS going to be a long flight!'...but mom and dad were so loving and comforting, we hardly heard her the whole 10 1/2 hours!!!
Hugs to you, Tante!!!
