Pain in neck after RAI

I had a TT and RAI 3 weeks ago. For the past week the front of my neck (under my jaw down to my collar bone) hurts. The pain is on and off. Did anyone else experience this? Also, under my jaw (near my neck) is swollen. I want to thank everyone on this site who has helped with all my questions. The information has really helped.     Hi Cheryl,
    I did not have pain or swelling as you are describing. I would call your doctor as soon as possible if he has an answering service that can contact him/her. If you are very swollen and you are having difficulty breathing or swallowing go straight to your nearest ER. This may be normal for some people, but I am not aware of these symptoms. I know that the RAI is mostly saturated in the first week and then starts to move from your system within the next four to twelve weeks. If you develop a fever, nausea and vomiting or rash don't hesitate to go to the ER immediately and they can also contact your doctor. I know this isn't much help, but it's the best I have for you.

    Pain & Swelling
    Cheryl,

    I had surgery & I-131 in 2009,followed by some degree of pain and swelling in the area beneath my jaw. I read on a post on this board that deep massage and warm compresses helped if it was salivary glands. I did this and it did relieve the discomfort.
