Our Christmas with our family
Well, it all started Saturday at 2 pm. They all showed up. Our boys and their families. Plus their dogs. I had leveled out to almost normal. Just tired. What wonderful pandemonium. We had our big dinner meal cooked by all. I ate like a pig.
Then we opened the presents from under the tree. More pandemonium. Hell the one good thing about the damn brain pills is I just fell asleep on the couch when that was over. Woke up at 9:30 and went to bed. They all partied until past midnight.
The next morning I had an almost normal morning BM. We all had a big breakfast cooked by the 3 woman (the way it should be). It was great. Then the youngest grandson asked me if he could take the Kubota out on the trails. The trails are muddy now but hell its Christmas so even though it shocked the hell out of my sons I said sure go for it. His big **** grin was worth it. So he made some ruts in the trails, I can fix that with the tractor next spring. I think this is why they don’t want the brain tumor removed. It must push on the mellow button up there.
For lunch we had the left over roast beef sandwiches with pepper cheese melted on top. The boys were all out on the front porch shooting a 45 cal colt pistol along with a 45 cal western 1860s rifle that my youngest son got from his father in law. The cowboys liked these weapons as they used the same ammo.
They all left Sunday at 4 pm. The scary old woman, myself and the Mini dog just collapsed on the couch. That is when it hit. I had a crap storm like you would not believe. It was so damn bad I did not make it to the john in time once. Yep, the old coot crapped in his pants. But what the hell, it was not the first time and thankfully it did not happen in front of my family. That would have been hard to handle.
Today I am a little tired but have only had to crap once. I would say my reconnect is doing just fine. Much better then expected. No more raw butt syndrome as I have enough grease to last years on it now. My bet is another week and I be back to 99% normal. No matter what this sure beats that damn bag.

Hey Kerry!
Sounds like an awesome time was had by all. It's amazing how much our lives revolve around "POOP" now. If poop is good...life is good. But...it is what it is. Merry Christmas to you and yours! Love ya!

It is wonderful you had this great family time together. I have said it before + I will say it again; there are fewer more loving + romantic gifts than a man cooking for a woman; you should try it sometime.
You know I love you, but you have to just accept some things in life. You know just like the serenity prayer says. “Accept the things I cannot change.”
I am an old coot chauvinist pig. If we cook for a woman, there is a puff of smoke and we disappear into thin air.

I guess on some issues we just have to agree to disagree! I am OK with that.0 -

Kerry,
Lovin what I'm hearing. Sounds like you had an early Christmas with lots of family, just the way it should be. Hopefully some day my kids will decide to start talking to me and visit once in a while. I think this cancer thing scared them away, not sure why, but they will get over it eventually.

Your post saddens me. Hell, get on the damn phone and tell them how much you love them and miss them. Ask them to forgive your short comings. We all have them.
Now is the time to just be open and all cards on the table face up. I did this when this crap cancer first hit with my sons and it did wonders for all of us. It gave them the ok to talk about it openly with me.
There is time for a late Christmas with them. This will be good for them to hear.
Go for it. What the hell do you have to loose.

Santa came early!
So very glad you had a wonderful early Christmas with your family. Sounds like you had a house full. My Dad eventually had to add a room on to the house just to be able to accomodate all the family gatherings.
Good to hear that the reconnect is working well for you...most of the time anyway. I would imagine you gave it a good test with all the holiday meals.
Hope the New Year treats you as well as Santa and your surgeon did!
