I sit and gaze at all of the wonderful holiday cards you, my family, have sent. And I am profoundly grateful that I have you as my strength and my warmth!
I was asked during an interview for a magazine (yes, blush, another 5 minutes of fame..lol) why I still mentor, and expose myself to the pain along with the joy of meeting yet another lost soul battling cancer. I thought a minute, and then I said simply "I must! I receive at least as much as I give to my special family. And so I must also share in the pain."
It truly is a remarkable experience to hold so many of you so dear! And to also know that, in times of hardness for me, you have my back, as well.
I wish you all the joys that Christmas should bring. I wish you a world with no more cancer, no more suffering. I give to you my heart and my hands, and am overwhelmed at your acceptance of a 'long termer' that just doesn't go away.
In my best dutch, "Prettige Feestdagen en Gelukkig Nieuw Jaar". Directly translated it means Happy Feastdays (or party days) and Lucky New Year...
Big, warm, cuddly hugs, Kathi
