Has anyone ever experienced skull mets?

Has anyone heard of skull mets with 3b lung cancer. New PET and bones scans this week for father-in-law. He has squamous cell cancer. He delayed treatment 3 months to deal with a foot wound - and to avoid a full foot amputation. He is now fine and has recovered from the foot surgery but his new oncologist was worried and did a head MRI. Brain is ok but there are shadows on the skull. I have never heard of skull mets.
