Mom is at peace.

My dear mother passed in the wee hours of Sunday morning, surrounded by her family and holding my hand. She fought her pancreatic cancer for six months and held on bravely until the very end. It's a small measure of comfort to know she's no longer in pain and at peace.
Thank you all for sharing your lives on the board and showing me my family wasn't in the trenches alone.

so sorry for your loss
A, I am so sorry for your loss, but share your happiness that your mother is now in a better place free of suffering. I take care of my mom, and I worry about the day when I go to call her and she won't be there. It's not really over for us, I don't think. Come back anytime. -
I'm so sorry
I'm so so sorry you lost your Mom but I am glad she's free from pain and suffering. She's definitely earned her wings. I have a mom that's 87 and I see her slowing down. One day in the not too distant future I know I'm going to lose her. My mom is my best friend. I am so sad for you. Know that you are still Mom's Girl and she will be watching over you.

So sorry
So sorry to hear of your mom's passing. My mom also died of pancreatic cancer but she only lived 2 months after she was diagnosed. It's horrible. Now my husband (who passed away in March) niece was diagnosed a year ago this past June with Pancreatic cancer. She's now having home hospice and seems to be going downhill fast. I know I should go see her, but I'm having a hard enough time dealing with this holiday season since it's the first one without my husband. I just don't think I could handle seeing her like this and want to remember her the way she was. Is that wrong? Take care of yourself! "Carole" -
