just an update.
Dad's MIE went very well. A couple days leter he had to go back to the OR to repair the stitches that he broke, but he's doing well. He past his swallow/leak test yesterday, 6 days after surgery. He's been eating everything he can get his hands on, that qualifies as a "liquid diet"
When he drank the mixture for the swallow test, the tech told him it would be bad. Dad swallowed it dowsn and told him it tasted like Banana cream pie:) - Take food away from a fat man for a week and he can make anything taste good - to quote my father. He has been in good spirits through all of this. The plan is for dad to come home Monday. Is there anything that we should expect or watch for once he's home?
He had 1 lymph node of 15 with minimnal cancer, so he has been told that he won't need further chemo/radiation. I hope they're right.
Take care
Danielle

Welcome
Hello Danielle
Welcome to our ec family. Congratulations to your dad for doing so well with his surgery. Praise the Lord. He sounds like he has a good positive attitude and a great sense of humor. This will help him tremendously!! Thanks for the laugh about the swallow tasting like banana cream pie. Good for him. Praying that he will continue to do well, and have a good recovery. Remind him to take it slow. Slow and easy wins the race. Keep us up to date as you can.
