    if i remember correctly. . .
    invasive ductal carcinoma, the most common type of breast cancer

    No, but...
    I'm thinking it was hormone receptive because they were able to treat her for quite a while.

    Niot sure -
    I googled it and 1 place says IDC and another said DCIS Saw different statemes as to +/- status. i have seen a couple of sites that have said that +/- can change in mets from the primary +/-.

    she was DX'd in '07 for bone
    she was DX'd in '07 for bone mets so they would hve been treating her since then for that no matter the +/- status (at least as i understand it).

    I remember her original tumor was very large. I looked it up on the internet.
    It was 9 cm.

    I'm currently living in NC so Elizabeth Edwards has been on the news 24/7 the past couple of days. When they announced her death late this afternoon they just said that her original dx had been Stage 3. Didn't say what kind. Sad to hear of the loss of another pink sister.....

    This has put me in a bad
    This has put me in a bad rame of mind. granted I am really tired and usually am ok. just feel grumpy and aggravated and scared!

    I think it was invasive
    I think it was invasive ductal, which like Heidi said, is common. But, this was a recurrence for her and she was Stage IV.
