Signet Ring Cell of the Appendix
Hi sitchy57-Just his past Friday, 7/15/11 my father-in-law received a pathology report from his appendectomy that he has Signet Ring Cell of the appendix. He will be going to his 1st oncologist appointment tomorrow & we are all very scared & very unsure to what questions we need to specifically ask. Any advice is highly appreciated.

My path. report said adenocarcinoma and also goblet cell type (carcinoid). I believe these are 2 types of cancer found in my little appendix. I did not have treatment for the appendix cancer because they believe it was contained in my appendix. I had chemo for my ovarian cancer and Brachytherpy radiation for my uterine cancer. Sharon
PS: my chemo was carboplatin and taxol.0 -

If you click on my name, you can read my story, and the treatments I went through. Most important, you MUST get yourself to an Appendix Cancer specialist, and not rely on someone who sees your cancer as just a variant of Colon Cancer.
PM me if you'd like to know more about my experience.
