I will catch hell for this post
I will raze your Matthew 17:20 with a John23 telling me to eat weeds along with a damn good fart from my buddy Brooks. On top of that I will let Gail get pissed off about anything she damn well wants to. I will even listen to folks that want me to put coffee up my butt. I listen to the folks that love juicers mix and like to graze in their back yards.
On this board we talk about our feelings and all the crap we go thru. We fully need to talk about this in a very open way. It makes us feel that we are not alone in this crap. As a child, I was taught you don’t fart in church. This is not a church. I can and will fart here.
Now I could blame this post on my brain tumor or the damn drugs they have me on. I will not. This is truly how I feel about it and I think God provides us this board to help us. If you have the need to sermonize, I am sure there is a site for that. A few of us have tried to put out a few hints. That sure as hell did not work.

Kerry,
You are not going to
Kerry,
You are not going to catch hell for this post, we are all in this mess together, one way or another. This is a place to go to for advice, guidance, and a place to bare your soul for all the crap we are going through!! If someone want to to come to piss and moan, let them, we all have been there! I do agree that I am a bit frustrated with the sermon's that seem to creep up! this is about the battle we are all in and what we have to do every day! So, my dear Man, you can get as pissy as you want! There are some of here who can take it!!!!!!!!

I'm fine with Bobby sermonizing and also with you complaining about Bobby sermonizing. Who is Bobby, by the way?

I'm at a loss as well....
But, yeah...we all have the right to do whatever floats your boat...and, well, Greg said it so well!!!

It's going to take more than a few hints.
Some take religion with a grain of salt, others expect miracles
on demand.... And then Kerry..... there's "us".
So, without trying to be insulting..... and to keep my friend Kerry's
words from falling into the dust....
There is a forum on this website dedicated to those that wish to
make religion the drug of choice; who might prefer to pray through
the entire cancer debacle... and who sincerely wish to relate their
beliefs to others that feel the same way.
Spirituality, Prayer, and Meditation
-This- forum isn't the best place to recite bible passages, or provide
long religious chants.
There are people of -all- nationalities, races and religions here,
many agnostics, as well as many atheists.
Suggesting that praying to a specific "God" is the only thing that
will cure, is actually claiming that anything anyone else believes in,
is foolish.
Chemo or radiation may be the only saviour, or it could be any of
the alternatives, we simply can not predict the outcome of any treatment.
"They" don't know what really causes cancer, only that some of us
have it growing inside us, while others never do.
Let's keep the spiritual and religious chants to the forum designed
for it; it's in the best interests to do that for everyone concerned.
We're all here to help one another, and that can't be done if we
single out people based on their religious beliefs, or the lack of them.
(That was my 300 cents).
Best of health to all!

Hi Nana,
Just to note... I replied on the other post after reading this one- so Kerry wrote this one first, before he replied to what I wrote on the other one.
Kerry- I guess my "advice" here would be sort of what I said to Bobby- we all need to think about how our words are going to be perceived before writing them.
I don't always practice what I preach myself, but it's always good to strive for to avoid riots.
(notice the smileface... meant for you to know I'm smiling at you in a friendly way while I'm saying it).

Faith (or lack of it) and Cancer
I am sure most of you know who Christopher Hitchens is. While his cancer is not ours, he has written a couple of essays that in some way touch on this subject, as well as others that each of us has probably experience since our dx:

Thanks for the references to Hitchens' essays. The stories are basically familiar to us here, but so very articulately expressed and engaging. (I don't see any relation at all to the issue of faith, though.)

Kerry:
Kerry, love ya. You had me laughing with the "grazing in the back yard". But you forgot a few things, the person on here several months ago that decided against chemo but did buy tree bark to boil and poison mushrooms, they were getting this stuff off the internet. Have not seen any further posts from them or the guy who guaranteed a cure, only $39.95 and if it didn't work, your money back.
Seriously, your posts got me thru some dark moments a few weeks back, turned the tears to laughter so go ahead and be blunt, your wit I look forward to so just keep being the honest guy you are.

My dear Kerry,
You had me laughing so darn hard, I spit up my pepsi through my nose. Shame on you.
Love you, man.
