Could it be from chemotherapy?
Dan,
I have neuropathy in both of my feet as a side effect from the chemotherapy drug Cisplatin. In my case it manifests as numbness between the large toe and the next toe in each foot. I have also heard some people describe the effect of neuropathy as a "burning sensation" in their feet.
Your post mentioned that you were in the oncology ward but did not identify a specific chemotherapy drug. My oncologist told me that neuropathy is a common side effect of "platin" chemotherapy drugs.
I believe there are medications that can be prescribed for neuropathy. You may want to discuss the question with your oncologist. I am surprised your oncologist did not have some suggestions.
Glad you are doing well otherwise.
