Hey everyone. I don't post much here but I do read almost everyday. I know this is the place to go for help and advice. I'm trying to find a licensed professional counselor or therapist in the Chicago area that has or has had cancer. I would rather talk to someone who has been through it. If anyone knows of one or knows where I can look, it would help me very much. I know it may sound strange, but I find unless you have gone through it, it is hard to talk to someone about your fears, concerns, or whatever.

Thanks, I hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving.

Dave

have you tried your onc office for a referral?
I would start at my onc office, perhaps the local ACS office, a search online and good old fashioned phone calls. My daughter found my counselor by going online and making calls, asking specific questions about the counselor to find just the right fit for me! Good luck in your search!
