Hi Chefrox
Good luck with your Onc, I will have my fingers crossed and keep you in my prayers. Sometimes you need to have one of those "cry" days. I felt the same way when diagnosed. I cried all day. The next day was fine. I did the same thing when I found out I had to have chemo. Again, I cried all day and was fine the next day. Hugs, Jean0 -
The day I was diagnosed
it was in the morning. I had taken 2 days off to run errands and the first thing on my agenda on day 1 was to get my yearly. So my life changed forever. Called my sister, had a cone biopsy THAT day and was at the Oncologists the next day.
At the end of that first day, my sister and I cried all day. Me more as she was trying to be stong. But at the end of that day, we were sitting at a Subway and started talking about nipples...reconstruction and so forth. And she said, very seriously that maybe they could get a piece of my little toe to make it.
My body, mind and spirit needed that. I laughed and laughed at the thought...I mean a real good belly laugh.
Just know, your "moods" will be on a very big rollercoaster ride so give yourself a break. This too shall pass.
You are in my prayers sweetie. Please keep us posted.
Warm hugs,
Sylvia0 -
sorry to hear
Everyone is so different...I saw Ob/GYN for mammo script and out come..then saw surgeon and no oncologist for weeks after that...
hope things go as good as they can...if you have someone to go along great help to have extra ears and to ask questions..0 -
The "rollercoaster ride"... Extreme highs & lows...
As we commony describe the mood swings along the journey. But, certainly not a "fun" rollercoaster.
Following diagnosis, my own onc doctors/nurses asked if I'd yet had a day like those you describe. They all said it's OK to have a day, or two, where we might not get out of bed, cry all day. Also said if those times lingered for more than a few days in a row, to let them know.
Hope you're currently enjoying the companionship of your parents, Sunday afternoon football, and pizza.
Kind regards, Susan
P.S.: Best wishes for your appointment on Tuesday.0 -
((((((((hugs))))))) to you~
((((((((hugs))))))) to you~ we understand the crying and staying in bed very well! Of course we do eventually get up and live life, just as you are doing, but oh my~ we sooo understand! I say I am the Queen of Ostrich therapy~ though it isn't very smart of a strategy: I keep talking and getting my mouth full of sand, and people walking by trip over my fat behind!!!
Hugs,
Chen♥0 -
Chefrox, I am glad you are
Chefrox, I am glad you are feeling better today. I am sorry you had a bad one yesterday. You just got this news 9 days ago give yourself some time. Your appointment wont be as bad as you imagine it. The more info you get the better you will feel. knowledge is power. You can and WILL beat this. And we will all be there with you. take care sweetheart Kay0 -
Hang in There
You sound very normal to me. I did a lot of crying, and freaking out when I finally got my dx. But I had my first mamo in late Jan. - got called back two weeks later (don't get me going!) and then about another week to see the surgeon, then a couple of weeks later for the masectomy which was March 19. Didn't see an onc. till April. I often wonder why not the onc first but I guess there is nothing I can do about that now!
You will find you have highs and lows, laughter and tears - it's all part of the process. But there are a lot of people on your side rooting for you and you will be fine. BTW, I cleaned and cooked meals to freeze like a crazy woman - kept my mind occupied.
Take care, good luck and hugs. Sally0 -

What you are going through is so normal, I think. It's all so scary and unknown. The waiting is the worst. Hang in and you'll be on your way to fighting this beast before you know it. Take care , and, don't forget this board is so full of kind people and no question or feeling is too small. I don't know what I would have done without it.0 -

You are going through the worst part...not knowing what's ahead. You will be in my thoughts all day tomorrow. Please let us know how you do.

is yukky. Nothing to do but let your worst fears go wild. I hate waiting and I want you to know you have my empathy.
I hope you get answers, that the news is good, and you can move on with your life.
Sending you energy and positive thoughts.

Good luck with your doctor's appointment. Having bc is scary and it is difficult to get through everything, the treatments, the doctor appointments, just everything, but, you can!
You have all of us in your corner!0 -
In the beginning everything
In the beginning everything is so fast paced, almost frantic, you're overloaded with decisions to make, information, worries, etc.
You need to give yourself those cry days! Just dont let them take over. You seem like a very strong woman with a good attitude about what you're going through & I think you're going to get through this just fine. And we're here to help you when you're having the rough times, and to celebrate happy times & milestones along with you. Best of luck to you & please keep us updated after your onc appointment.
*hugs*
