2010 Can't Get Over Soon Enough!
Has anyone had a cystoscopy? Just wondering how uncomfortable they are.
Just something else for me to worry about.........Can't take much more...

For you! I'm not sure what that is but just doesn't sound any fun! How do you know there is blood in urine? are you in pain when you go? Do you test for it?
And I agree...bring on 2011!!!
A Cystoscopy is when they use a Cycstocope (like a telescope or microscope) to see inside your bladder & urethra. This all started last December when I had pain in my lower left side of my stomach. They did a urine test and that's how they found the blood in my urine. I have no pain when I pee and I can't see the blood. Hugs, jean0 -

it never ends, does it! I think my sil had that test a few years ago. She was peeing frequently but not much was coming out. She has to avoid anything with caffiene and other foods. I do know she takes medication. Unfortunately I don't know whether the test itself hurt. Try not to worry about it. You have enough going on with the exchange surgery coming up. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

My friend had microscopic blood in her urine--went through all the tests, cysto, IVP, etc. and guess what--nothing found. Hopefully, this will be you too. I think they numb the urethra, it's a bit uncomfortable, but like we all say here--doable!!
I'm sure CypressCynthia would give you the professional low-down on the procedure.
Good luck,

I had that test about twenty years ago. It does not hurt. You don't feel anything. No worries.

I've never had this test, so, I can't offer any info on it. Want to wish you good luck with your surgery.
