You can fight this again
Hi Don,
I am sorry your PET results were not what you hoped, but the answer is YES, you can fight this again. Pat had good PET results this month, 14 months out from a recurrence. He first was treated in 2008 with chemoradiation and in 2009 he had a recurrence in the neck. Had radical neck dissection and chemo reirradiation. He is doing amazingly well. I know it will be hard, but you have definitely not lost the war. Let us be with you to support you during this time and you will make it through!
Keep us posted and let us help.

So sorry
We all got so caught up in the great news from so many others with clean scans that it makes it even more heartbreaking to hear your news.
You are a strong man and you have beat this before and I truly believe you can do it again. Cancer may have won the first battle but you will win the war!!!
Stay strong and stay in touch, we are all here for you.

It's just a stepping stone. While the radiation is more local, the chemo covers everything...hoping for the very best outcome.
Thoughts and Prayers,

As it's been said many times here - attitude is huge in this battle and you've definitely got a good one going for you. Kick some but man!

Don,
This beating cancer stuff is a 26.2 mile fight. We wish it was a 100 yd sprint, but it's not.
Keep running and keep that great positive attitude. You can do this!!!!!
All the best

Don
don,
thank you for having the courage to post your not so great results. it must have been very hard to have heard that you will need more treatment. It has got to be so much harder to write about bad news when so many have good news, but there are a lot of people here who want to be able to tell you that you can still beat it! one battle down...but you will win the war! stay positive! sounds like you have a daughter who loves you very much and whom you love as well. wishing you nothing but the best. may you have a wonderful doctor with a great treatment plan that kills the remaining cancer cells. may you keep up your good attitude...it is time to kick some major cancer-butt!

Don,
Wish we could've added you to the NED list this time around, instead of waiting for a few months. Sorry you have to go the extra mile - glad you have the right attitude and the med team to back you up. Do well. Keep us up to date.
I am sorry that you have to go thru treatment again. I wish you only the very best. Stay strong and positive. You know we are here if you need us.
Blessings,

WE TAKE THE GOOD WITH THE BAD
Don, first off, you will beat this the second time around. I read allot of posts where people finally win the battle but it is on the secon and or even third time. You hang in there and your time will come with the good news.
Remember, we all help each other with the good and the bad issues. It is like being married, "for better or worse."
BEST!!
