Basketcase checking in!
Thought I'd better check in since I haven't for awhile. I'm leaving Wed. to go back to NC to Charlie's folks. I promised my mother-in-law I'd come back and get her Christmas decorations out and up for her. I've already put up my tree as we did this early since this time of year was so hectic for Charlie. I managed okay and did get it up after figuring out I had the pole upside down! I then did the lights (mind you, Charlie did all this, so this was new for me!) I turned all the lights out and just turned the tree on to see how it looked; then I stood there and cried but Rowdy and Sammy two of my three boys (dogs) came over to me and just nuzzled up to me. Blue the other sheltie would have as he is a love bug too but doesn't hear very well now! I've almost finished decorating it and it does look beautiful I have to admit! My brother Jerry and his wife Judy are coming up from Thomasville for T'giving and my sister June, and my niece and her two daughters are coming down from Chatt. My brother Richard's (the one that just passed away a month ago tomorrow) wife, son, and grandson, and his mother-in-law may come to if they don't go to Maryland to my niece's and her husband's house. So I may have a pretty full house for T'giving. Charlie's brother, Steve, has had to ride herd on their Daddy as he said last week he didn't want to do anything for Christmas; Chuck (that's what they called Charlie) is gone and I don't want a tree up or anything or do any celebrating. Steve told him that is not what Chuck would want him to do and reminded him I was coming in to get the decorations out and that this is the first thing his mother has gotten excited about or shown any interest in so he'd better change his attitude and get behind her on this! I told my mother-in-law that yes, it's going to be hard and yes there'd be some tears; but I also think it would be a dishonor to Charlie's memory to just mope around as he would not want us to do that. He always got such a kick out of how I do at Christmas and told me numerous times, he never wanted me to change that - so I'm not! I had written my in-laws a note last week, thanking them for Charlie that he was the love of my life and my life and always would be. And then I mentioned the above about Christmas and yes, it'd be hard, but let's remember where he'll be spending Christmas this year and I didn't think he'd be moping around! I have my ups and downs but try and deal with it. I do have to say that when I go to bed at night that's the worst part and that was the best part of my day for my 35 years. However Sammy's (the dachshund) has taken to sleeping on Charlie's side of the bed now! It's just like I've said before I miss him so badly and so much but do rejoice in knowing I will see him again one day! Well, gotta run. I'll check back in when I return home. Thanks for all your support and I remember y'all daily in my prayers. God Bless!

I haven't even thought about decorating for Christmas. I better get my butt in gear & get a move on. We have recently moved & it will definitly be a challenge searching for my decoration's this season. I am happy to hear you are doing so great & have busy plan's for the upcoming holiday's. I wish you a wonderfull Thanksgiving & please keep safe while driving to your inlaw's.
God Bless You & The Pup's

Lifetime Memories
Good Morning Jan,
You have figured out so much in the short time that you have been physically without Charlie. But just the way you talk, think and actions you take..you have to know that Charlie is with you.
He has given you this knowledge and strength to carry you through until you are together again. I'm sure he is looking down at you and within you, smiling and knowing you are living and surviving from the lifetime of memories and experiences that you have shared together....he is in you.
Love, Prayers and Thoughts,
