Hi Patteee I was the same last weekend , doctor prescribed me
citromax which is a 3 days antibiotic and worked, it stop fever and has helped a lot with cough less dry and more resonant! Also it help me to expectorate but , despite much better, one week later cough still with me and was told to expect one week more, flumicil ( acetilcisteine ) is helping a lot too with cough !
Hugs Patteee. -

I like Robitussin DM or
I like Robitussin DM or Mucinex DM (I get the generics)- loosens me up, and quiets the cough. Might be worth considering.
If it's really just a dry cough, you might want to ask for an Rx cough medicine with codeine or hydrocodone. That's what my dr gives me when I'm coughing out of control.
Feel better!
