Just wanted to share with everyone that today was my last rad treatment #33. I amout about one week off schedule. I had to suspend the treatment with only 4 left for a week when my neck became so burnt from the rads, (doctors orders). And yes, I though about not finishing, But all behind me now Yahooooooooooooooooooo! My rad onc released me to the ent and I do not have a follow up appt with the rad onc. I see the ent in 2 weeks. I have no taste buds, and neck is really sore, but other than that I am doing OK. Throat is managable and very tired.
Thanks for everyones support here. Deb

    Graduation Day
Congratulations of finishing your rads. My final (30th) treatment was a bit over two months ago. My neck is still a bit sore, but manageable. My taste buds came back pretty well after about a month. All in all, I am grateful that my after effects seem to be less severe than some people report and I am hopeful that yours are as well. Best of luck in your recovery.

    Graduation...
Congratulations! I just finished a very aggressive treatment (56 rads!) on August 12th so I know how you feel. Stay positive, be kind to your body while you recover and most of all stay strong. This is a BIG milestone.

    walking away a winner
You are doing great! The effect of the last radiation you just took is still about two weeks away but you know it's coming and then it is overwith. Then you get to start healing up. You just showed that cancer who is boss. I graduated three years ago but learn something new about myself and this beast everyday, still.

    Advice from the dog.
Deb, I think you need to follow the advice of your dog. Wrap yourself up and let yourself recover. Be patient...the body heals.

Congrats on finishing, take care of that neck, my wife used a LOT of aquaphor and beleive it or not saran wrap to keep the moisture in.
Dont forget your swallow exercises to help keep throat muscles working, I didn't do mine for awhile and almost paid the price. Again congrats
Best Wishes & Prayers for you recovery
