Cyberknife

I have done some research and the most I have found is that they do not recomend Cyberknife for tongue cancer. I had an MRI a few weeks ago and still have a golf ball size tumor on the left side base of the tongue, also one lymph node that is enlarged. I spoke with my Oncologiest on the phone Friday and he informed me they might want to try cyberknife on me but would not think it would cure me. I have already had IMRT radiation with carboplatin, now I might have to go through cysplatin with this new radiation. Also maybe a neck dysection. I feel great finally and have good energy, just in time for the holidays to get my butt kick again. The good new that he told me was I did have some hot spots on the right side of my neck and tongue and they are all gone. I have been eating the apricot seeds along with some other stuff and eating health, just not all vegan. So I would like to think this has helped my body fight off the smaller spots and now go after the larger one.

So sorry to hear that you have to take another run at this thing. Hang tough, it sounds like you and your doctors are putting a good plan together. Now, get out there and kick some more butt! You can do this!
Deb
Sorry you are going through this again.
Apricot kernels? I thought they were poisonous or had arsenic in them. Aren't they very bitter? Is this supposed to suppliment a diet or is it an anti cancer thing? Just wondering.

Cyberknife
Brad,
I googled "cyberknife treatment of base of tongue cancer" and found a short but informative discussion under "cyberknife.com". The two doctors on there agree with your findings. You might try a second opinion from someplace like M.D. Anderson. I wish you and everyone on this board good health, Rich P.S. Wish I had something more helpful.0
