CAREGIVERS and THEIR LOVED ONES – A Song for You Today:)
I found that the words to this song can apply to any of our relationships that we have with our loved ones – from spouse to spouse – partner to partner – parent to child – child to parent – friend to friend, as well as to the love we share for each other in the community.
The words are Deep – the words are Strong – and more to the point, they ring so resoundingly True.
I think if we hear the song, and listen to the words, all of us can find some relationship in our lives, where these words truly strike a chord with what we all have gone through as we walk down the Path of Cancer, on all of our individual and collective journeys.
Made me really think of what Kim and I have been through, as we steam roller towards the 7th Year of all of this. It reminded me of how we all must “lean on each other” for so much – and how all of our lives are continually effected – and how we put on a brave face and march head on into the storm each day.
It made me think of how “fragile” that life really is – how we have each based our whole lives on the other partner in our life – and what could and has happened when we subtract one another from that equation.
It also made me think about how lucky we are when we do have a significant other in our lives, to help shoulder the burden and help each other get to the next day – and all of that entails, on any given moment of the day or week.
Bottom line – it just made me Think – and I hope this post and the attached song will make you think some more as well.
None of the fighting is fun – but it’s the journey itself - the transformation of one’s self into something more than they were before all of this started, is what we are all really gaining with our experiences that we learn, as we all work our way through all of this, one tough day at a time.
I just wanted to share this with you today. “Look at Us” is out on my Expressions page – just click, save, and play.
Watching all of you – all the time:)

Craig,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and wisdom. I'll go have a listen. You and your wife are to be celebrated. You have been through so much together.

Thanks Everyone!
I know this song was written another way, but I could listen to it again and tell it that it could apply to each one of us with what we deal with and how each of our "teams" make it through this.
And I just wanted to share it with the group:)
